Complexity is not a feature of the universe, but a limitation of language. Irreducibility. If nothing is created or destroyed, then life isn't a beginning, death isn't an end, we are just transitioning between different states of being.

If the universe is an inseparable whole, then the observer is also apart of that system. The universe isn't a collection of objects containing life, it is a single living process that becomes self aware.
